Eco Lodge Shimanto opened July 2, 2002. The Lodge is located at a beautiful and natural site between the Shimanto-River, one of the purest rivers in Japan, and the Pacific Ocean on Shikoku Island in the western part of Japan.

The healing-oriented Eco Lodge Shimanto consists of three centers: the Eastern-Chinese Clinic, the Center Facility with spa and restaurant and the 30-room hotel.

The local government of Nakamura City (pop. 35,000) and Japan Railroad Shikoku created this project in an environmentally friendly way as much as they could from planning to construction. The owners, planners, architects, engineers, construction companies and local people all worked together in what has become one of the region’s largest green development team.

The facility is fast becoming popular in Japan and its reputation is spreading worldwide.
